Meet Our Leadership

Thom Harrison serves as the Senior Pastor of PIBC. His preaching is rooted in a straightforward commitment to teach the Bible expositionally—verse by verse—with clarity and conviction, helping people understand God’s Word and grow in their love for Christ.
Thom is married to Anne and they have five grown children. He studied at the University of Alabama and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served in the United States Marine Corps and later as a missionary with the International Mission Board—experiences that still shape how he thinks about leadership, service, and the mission of the church.
He and his family live on Padre Island and love coastal life. When he’s not at the church, you’ll likely find him fishing, reading, or spending time with his family.
More than anything, Thom wants to see lives changed by the gospel and anchored in the truth of Scripture.

Stephen Warne has served the Lord in a variety of ministry settings, including youth ministry, senior adult ministry, international missions in Brazil, and as a Navy Chaplain. He studied at East Texas A&M, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Regent University.
Stephen and his wife, Ginger, have been married for over 31 years and have three children: Caleb, Hope, and Nate. Outside of ministry, Stephen enjoys gardening, duck hunting, and spending time with friends around a game table.
While stationed at NAS Corpus Christi, the people of Padre Island Baptist Church made such a lasting impact that he returned to Padre Island after retiring from the Navy in 2024, joining the PIBC staff as Family Pastor in 2025.

He and his family are proud to call Padre Island home and consider it a privilege to serve the PIBC church family. They are excited to see God working in the lives of people on the Island and desire to help families grow in their faith, connect with one another, and live on mission for Christ.

Steven Garcia has been serving as the Music Minister at Padre Island Baptist Church since 2011. He loves helping lead people in worship and creating an environment where everyone can connect with God in a real and meaningful way. Whether it’s through music, building teams, or encouraging others to use their gifts, his heart is to make worship both authentic and accessible.
Over the years, Steven has enjoyed building relationships within the church and watching people grow in their faith. He believes worship is more than just music—it’s a way of life—and he’s passionate about helping others experience that for themselves.
When he’s not at church, you’ll probably find Steven spending time with his wife, Suzanna, and their three kids—Benjamin, Candace, and Andrew. He also enjoys songwriting, playing hacky sack, and painting—creative outlets that reflect his love for both music and expression. Their family is thankful to be part of such a great church community and to call this area home.

Rebecca has been a part of our church family for 19 years and loves serving in many different ways around the church. She currently serves in the church office. She is also actively involved with the youth group and media team, helping support ministry and connect people both inside and outside the church. Rebecca is passionate about serving others and being part of what God is doing through the church.

Hi, my name is Marie Abear I am a wife and a mother of three beautiful children. I am honored and humbled that God chose me to serve in Children’s Ministry and to share the truth and the love of Jesus with our children here on the Island and beyond. In my eyes, there is no better way to spend my extra time than helping raise warriors for Jesus.
I have been an Islander since 2015 and am blessed to be a part of ministry here at PIBC. I look forward to seeing God move among our children and our church. I hope to see you there!

Abel Muñoz has been taking care of the Padre Island Baptist Church campus since 2005. He works hard behind the scenes to keep everything clean, organized, and ready for whatever’s happening—from Sunday services to midweek activities.
Before joining the staff, Abel served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, and he brings that same sense of discipline and reliability to his work every day. His steady presence and dedication help make the church a welcoming place for everyone who walks through the doors.
